Get to know Grand Rapids (and the world)

Dr. Lynn Happel update

Back in 2013 when I was conducting my regular interviews, I chatted with Dr. Lynn Happel of Eastown Veterinary Clinic.

Well, she’s been making the news a lot recently, including a press release I received the other day alerting the media of her work on the lion, Bakari, at John Ball Zoo.

During the routine visit, which Dr. Happel performed with the zoo’s house vet, she extracted two of the lion’s teeth.

“Volunteering with community organizations like John Ball Zoo allows the Eastown team to contribute to the well being of many different animals throughout the Grand Rapids community,” Dr. Happel said in the release. “Personally, it is most important that my knowledge can benefit the health and well being of every animal I serve – big and small.”

In February, Dr. Happel was featured in the Grand Rapids Business Journal’s Influential Women e-newsletter. In March, she was the winner in the $0-$1.49 million category at the Business Journal’s Top Women Owned Businesses.
